Richard, I think this topic should have been posted in the Cockpit building section of the Forum so the Admins may move it there.

The new Module doesn't include every previous GF module in it, eg. ,the autopilot isn't. It seems to be only for Comms/Nav/Transponder plus some buttons. So, you would have to weigh up the cost of it against that of the individual older modules. You might not actually want all that the new module offers.

I've been using GoFlight modules for some time and I highly recommend them as they are easy to configure. The new GF-ICCS looks great but note that the rack is sold seperately, which you will need. Pat mentioned the Autopilot module, this works fine with FS default aircraft but does not work fully with the PMDG aircraft (neither does the GoFlight MCP and EFIS). I can't comment on Level-D aircraft. Check RC Simulations (www.rcsimulations.co.uk) for availability, price and postage. May be worth phoning them and speak to Bob Sidwick first.

You can BUY a module/patch from PMDG that enables GF harware with the PMDG aircraft.

Richard Bassett has it and I think it cost around £25!!!

I highly recommend the GF hardware - it brings a whole new dimension to simming.
My current cockpit set-up consists of:
GF-MCP-Pro
GF-166A running comms 1 & 2
GF-166A running Nav 1 & 2
GF-46 running XPDR, Altimeter, ADF
GF-RP48 x 2 (4 x Rotary knobs and 8 buttons each)
GF-P8 (8 buttons)
GF-T8 (8 toggle switches)
GF-LGT (landing gear, trim, flaps)

Yes you can, but the GoFlight EFIS and MCP do NOT have all the functions of the PMDG EFIS and MCP.
I had all this hardware and tried it on the PMDG 737. I sent it back as there's no point in having somethig that's not fully compatible. I now have the CP Flight EFIS and MCP.
I wrote an article 'GoFlight Modules and the PMDG 737' in the June 2007 issue of PC Flight (page 36), detailing the shortfalls.
If you don't have your copy of this issue [and why not :-)], send me a private message and I'll send it to you.
BTW The other GoFlight Modules that I have, GF-166, GF-P8 , work perfectly on the PMDG.

Hi Richard.
The Go Flight GF46 is the first you should buy. Doe,s all nav and autopilot controls on one module, So if moneys a problem begin with this one, i recommend it.

Hi Richard,

You might keep an eye on ebay.  You need to input GoFlight  and Go Flight in th search and then bookmark each resulting page.  I have picked up some great bargains my present tally being 18 modules some of which I had to buy as part of a package and have had difficulty up to now to find uses for.  However having recently discovered the intricacies of FSUIPC I expect this situation to change soon.  I wouldn't recommend the throttle quadrant though, as I have had the use of two and have failed to get either to work satisfactorily.

Cheers,

Louis.

I have three GoFlight modules but have just discovered that they will not work under Windows 7 with the currently supplied software. An email to GoFlight sorted this: they sent me the Beta version 1.93 which worked fine

Hi All
To get Go flight modules to work.
1. Install the GF 1.77 drive, this puts an entry into the registry, the later version will not.
2. Uninstall the GF 1.77 driver.
3. Now go ahead and install the latest GF drive 1.94.07.
Now it will work.
